The Apple Watch app
RestTap does not send your timers, workouts, or health information to the developer. It has no RestTap account, advertising, analytics SDK, or developer-operated backend.
The app stores your timer, defaults, favorites, alert/feedback choices, and optional workout settings on your watch. Workout logging begins only when you choose Start workout. Local summaries can contain session dates, rest intervals and durations, personal targets, and heart-rate readings when you opt into Apple Health. The latest 100 workout summaries are retained locally; older summaries are replaced as new ones are added. Discarded accidental timers are excluded from the workout stats.
Apple Health is optional. With your permission, RestTap reads heart-rate data to display recent readings, chart trends and provide personal target cues. Explicitly starting a workout with Apple Health enabled records a strength workout using HealthKit, with associated workout data collected by the system. Ending that workout attempts to save it to Apple Health. RestTap does not request clinical records, routes, location, contacts or advertising permissions.
Your permissions and Apple Health settings control what data is available and how Apple Health stores or syncs it. Completing a permission request does not reveal to RestTap which read categories you allowed. Turning the app’s Apple Health option off stops its optional queries and recording use; you can revoke system access through Apple Health. Change recording options between workouts.
Local workout files are excluded from device backup. You can delete local workout history from Workout options when no workout is active; removing the app also removes its installed local data. Deleting local history or removing RestTap does not delete workouts already saved in Apple Health. Manage those records in Apple Health. Apple Health storage, encryption, sync, and any platform diagnostics you choose to share follow Apple’s settings and policies.
With notification permission, watchOS schedules local completion, optional target and test notifications. Their payload identifies the current timer, revision, deadline and cue type; no remote notification server is used. You can change notification permission in system settings. We do not receive your App Store payment-card details.
This website
You can read this website without submitting a name or email address. We do not provide a newsletter signup, contact form, user account, advertising tracker, or visitor analytics script. The interactive timer and workout preview use page memory and simulated heart-rate/workout data. They do not access your health information. Preview choices are not uploaded or stored after you leave the page.
Hosting and security infrastructure processes ordinary technical request information, which can include IP address, requested page, browser/device information, request headers, timestamps, and security or diagnostic logs. This is used to serve, secure, and troubleshoot the site. Infrastructure may use essential security or access-control cookies. We do not add advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.
The site is published through OpenAI Sites and served using Cloudflare infrastructure. These providers may process technical data under their applicable service terms and privacy policies. Access-restricted previews may additionally require the hosting provider’s sign-in and access controls. Such a preview is separate from the watch app, which has no account. We do not enable optional advertising or behavioural analytics. Google Search Console is used to verify domain ownership, submit pages and review aggregate Google Search performance; no Google Analytics script is added to this site.
If you contact support
If you email resttap@outlook.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, such as a watch model, app version, or description of an issue. We use it to respond, investigate the issue, manage follow-up, and handle privacy requests. Email is handled through Outlook.com, provided by Microsoft. Please do not send sensitive health information, passwords, or payment-card details.
We retain correspondence only while reasonably needed to answer and follow up on the request, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. You can ask us to delete it. We do not add support contacts to a marketing list.
Service providers and disclosures
OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare provide website hosting and delivery/security services; Microsoft provides Outlook.com support email; Google provides Search Console. Apple provides App Store distribution, payments, and device/system services. Provider processing may occur outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States and other locations, where local law and lawful authority requests may apply.
We do not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect a person, investigate abuse, or secure the service. Technical logs follow the providers’ configured retention and operational requirements and are then deleted or overwritten; we do not promise a provider-wide deletion schedule we do not control.
Provider policies: OpenAI, Cloudflare, Microsoft, Google, and Apple.
Your choices and rights
Contact Devon at resttap@outlook.com to ask about information we hold, request access, correction, or deletion, withdraw applicable consent, ask about portability where provided by law, or make a privacy complaint. We may verify your identity in a proportionate way before acting and explain any applicable legal exception. Do not send identity documents in an initial email.
The developer cannot inspect or remotely erase the watch app’s local timer data; manage that on your watch. You can disable notifications in system settings, choose what to send in a support email, or stop using the website. You can also contact the privacy regulator with jurisdiction over your concern, including Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, where applicable.
Security and children
We limit the information the product needs and use appropriate administrative and technical safeguards for information under our control. No service is perfectly secure. We assess suspected privacy incidents and provide notices required by applicable law.
RestTap is a general rest-timer utility, not a child-account service. We do not request children’s names or contact information. Optional Apple Health features use the device owner’s permission controls; the app does not send health data to the developer. If you believe a child sent personal information through support, contact us so we can investigate and respond appropriately.
Changes
We will post an updated date and policy when these practices change. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required before a materially different use of previously collected information.
